Put Down Your Cell Phone

Standard

What happens when there is a lapse in activity?
What happens when you’re waiting for a train to arrive,
or your friend needs to pause the movie because nature calls?
What happens when you’re waiting for your lunch to arrive,
or you find yourself standing in line at the store,
or stuck in rush hour traffic,
or terrified in a doctor’s office?

What we do with those moments of waiting
reveals a lot about our inner world.
If you are uncomfortable with stillness
even for just a minute,
how ever will you be able to meditate?

Come, embrace the stillness now.
It waits for you to recognize
and abide in your own true nature.

Put down your cell phone now,
and abide in your own true nature.
