Room for Being

Standard

At the root of all suffering
is an ego that clings.
Remember that nothing is permanent;
it all must go.
Holding on as life slips through your fingers
you deny yourself the experience
of simply being with this moment
just as it is.
So if you must blame anything
for your unhappiness,
blame the clinging…
And then,
start to make friends
with the root of the clinging.
Look at what you’re holding onto,
be brave,
ask yourself, “Why?”
Let go of the illusion of control.
Now you have room for being.
