The Eyes of Your Soul

Standard

Keep the faith.
Trust.
Don’t lose hope.
Your rational mind
cannot conceive of  the true
length, width, depth and breadth of you
so don’t go there
looking for answers
about who you really are.
Go deeper.
Look for the light
shining within you,
there, in the deepest,
most sacred chamber of your Self.
When you turn in
to look at your own light
the mirrors of your soul’s eyes
magnify the light within you,
until it overflows
and radiates out
to everyone around you.
Do you want to see the world
with clear, bright, shining eyes?
Then close the eyes of your body
and open the eyes of your soul.

PS: Take a deep breath.  All is well.

Just Begin

Standard

Just begin.
You don’t have to finish
everything all in one go.
Just get started.
Get the momentum going,
don’t look back.
That project that seemed impossible
now becomes a series
of manageable steps.
The first step?
Take a deep breath.
Be still, close your eyes, go in.
When you take the time
to find center
the smallest actions
can have the most profound impact
on the world around you.
You don’t have to have
it all figured out.
Just begin.

Answer the Call

Standard

Be bold when it comes to your dreams.
They need to see you mean business.
Otherwise, they might fly off
in search of someone who’ll
take the chance you were offered
but were too afraid to take.
Friends, you can have your excuses,
or you can have your success,
but you can’t have both.
Looking back on your life
as you lay there on your deathbed,
what will you want to see
written into the record of your years?
Let that question drive you forward
as you answer the call to live your dreams.

What Will You Make?

Standard

The Source is endless.
What you draw from it
is up to you.
It is different for everyone
for everyone is different
here in the physical realm.
But the Source is energy,
pure and simple,
and we are of it
and we are it.
If we are Source
then we stand in a position
of limitless creator
wherever we are,
whatever we are doing.
The ways we express
that which we are
depends on where
we place our focus.
If you could have, be,
make, do, experience
anything at all,
what would it be?
Sit a while.
Close your eyes,
go inwards, be still.
Let yourself find center,
always there.
Feel the energy of life
pulsing through you,
every cell alive
with intelligence and purpose.
You too are a cell
of the Universal Body.
You too are alive
with intelligence and purpose.
Now, what will you make of this?

Do What Needs to Be Done

Standard

I’m waiting to feel motivated
and then I remember
that motivation comes
as I begin to do what needs to be done.
Feelings follow behavior.
If I were to wait
to feel like I wanted to exercise,
I might never step outside my house.
But if I put my shoes on
and walk out into the sunshine
(the wind, the rain, the hot, the cold),
then my body feels good
and my mind says,
Exercise! What a great idea.
Don’t wait to feel like you’re in the mood
to do what needs to be done.
Just begin.  Take one small step.
Put one dish away.
Put one shoe on.
(Then the other.)
Once you begin,
the good feelings come.
Now go and do what needs to be done.
You can do it!

Can You Feel It?

Standard

Why wait  for something
extraordinary to happen
to be fulfilled?
Take a deep breath.
Can you feel it?
Why wait for the world
to come to its senses
to experience peace?
Exhale.
Can you feel it?
Why wait for happiness,
a sense of belonging,
inspiration,
health,
connectedness?
Just sit still and breathe.
Everything you long for
is right within you.
You are the keeper of great treasures,
wealthy beyond measure.
Don’t sit there alone, brooding, waiting,
when you can come to know
the utter beauty of love’s true joy.
Walk to the door, fling it open, step outside.
Beckon the world to come see your treasure,
dazzling with the hope and the promise
of good days to come.
Don’t wait. Share it with us now.

The Majesty Is Us

Standard

If I could go through my days
allowing myself to be surprised
by the countless ways the sacred
manifests in the mundane
I would live a life of wonder.
Why should I wait to be awestruck
by the majesty of the world?
It is in the mountains
and in a loaf of bread,
in the oceans
and in the kitchen sink,
in the forests
and in the recycling bin.
The majesty is everywhere around us
because the majesty is us.
