A Good Life

Standard

Here I am,
completely drunk off of life,
confused, obliterated, open,
vulnerable, and asking for more.
It’s a good life.
Yes.
It’s a good life.

You’re Alive!

Standard

This day is a huge gift!
How many people who were alive yesterday
didn’t wake up today?
And yet here you are, reading these words—
isn’t it amazing you can look at these symbols
and your precious brain makes meaning of them
in a way that your heart can be touched
or your body may want to move?
At any moment you might breathe deeply
and settle into stillness,
or you may jump up
and run like crazy.
You can
laugh
cry
sing
shout
dance…
Isn’t it amazing?
You’re alive!

Stay Open

Standard

Stay open.
If you’re not deliberately staying open,
you are probably shutting down.
Sure, you might feel safer
hiding your light from the world,
but did you come here to live
in the darkness of your comfort bubble?
Just beyond the edges of that bubble,
your amazing potential awaits,
potential only you can fulfill.
Start by being open to the possibility
that you could stay open
and move on from there.
Take deep breaths.
If you’re feeling uncomfortable
you’ve reached the edge of your comfort zone
and now real growth can take place.
Take a stand for your open mind,
your open heart, your boundless spirit.
Live from your deepest truth,
express the soul fire that burns within you,
and as the changes come,
stay open.

Isn’t It Wonderful?

Standard

Don’t give up
when you see an obstacle in your path
your obstacles ARE your path.
Don’t believe me?
Tell me one amazing thing you’ve accomplished
without a lot of hard work.
Yes. All amazing things come
as a result of hard work and perseverance.
Instead of getting nervous
when an obstacle looms large ahead of you,
get excited.
Yes!  An opportunity to become
more of the you that you are here to become!
Your mindset will determine your experience.
Isn’t it wonderful that you can choose?

Reach Out

Standard

If you’re feeling lost, alone,
sad, angry, hopeless,
depressed, at wit’s end
or otherwise fed up completely
with life,
do not,
I repeat DO NOT isolate yourself!
Reach out.
It might seem like the last thing
you want to do,
but please, friend,
REACH OUT.
I’m going through
some difficult stuff right now,
and I decided to do something different
from what I’ve done before.
In the past,
I have isolated myself
and spiraled into deep depression,
but not this time.
This time I have reached out
to friends, family, coworkers,
and people I don’t know well
but whom I admire
and guess what?
The outpouring of love,
compassion, humor,
support, insight
and positivity
has given me a new lease of life.
I thought my whole life would fall apart,
but I feel fine.
In fact, I feel more than fine,
because this time it’s different.
Instead of feeling worthless
like I did in the past,
I remember how much I matter.
And guess what?
You matter too!
Remember,
if you’re down in the dumps,
REACH OUT!
You can do it!
((((BIG HUGS))))

PS You can reach out here too, you know, in the comments section. Just saying. ❤ 😀

Problem or Opportunity?

Standard

Things are never as bad
as you think they are.
Indeed “problems”
are constructs of our mind;
they originate in our thoughts
about reality
but aren’t necessary the truth
of this one expansive now moment.
Something challenges you,
and instead of calling it a problem,
why not say instead
Ah! An opportunity to grow!
It’s all about your mindset.
If you choose a problem mindset,
you’ll feel stuck, embittered, frustrated,
lost, annoyed, impatient…terrible.
If you choose a growth mindset,
you’ll rise to the challenge,
feeling empowered, inspired,
open, motivated, bold…awesome.
So, where do you stand?
Problem, or opportunity?

Not Knowing

Standard

We can’t possibly grasp
the entire scope of our own existence
but we sure do make ourselves miserable trying.
Instead of grasping, let’s try an experiment.
Let go.
See what happens
when you leave room for not knowing,
for being groundless,
for having no control.
Who do you become
in that open, mysterious place
of not knowing?
