You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world.
If you’re accustomed to struggling,
let’s try something new.
Work with me here.
Imagine the one thing
you really, really want to do
with this one precious human life of yours,
this huge goal, this amazing project
that would leave you feeling blessed
at its completion.
Then, ask yourself,
Does it have to be hard?
Do I have to struggle to get there?
Imagine opening yourself
to the flow of Universal Intelligence
and allowing yourself to blossom
and expand into your heart’s vision.
do the work of getting quiet and still,
going inwards, and immersing yourself
in the flow of the energy that created
all that is.
When you become accustomed
to the feeling of universal connectedness
and you develop the capacity
to stay connected
as you move through daily life,
the way is opened up before you.
It doesn’t have to be hard.
This expansion into greater states of being
is the most natural thing in the world
for you to do,
just as a flower turns its face to the sun
delighted to see clear skies
after having weathered the darkest storm,
and in that state of all encompassing light
easily, naturally, beautifully—
A cure for the days when it’s cold and rainy
and you’re in a funk:
A game called “One Hundred Things I Love.”
If you’re with a friend or several,
you can take turns completing this sentence:
Just keep going around and around
sharing what you love
until you can feel your mood lifting.
If you are by yourself, take a sheet of paper
and write I LOVE in huge letters at the top.
Then start thinking of all the things you love,
and write them down, one by one.
It only takes a minute
and you’ll feel a million times better…
no more room for an ick sauce funky mood!
hot chocolate on a cold day
kittens sleeping on my lap
kissing my children’s sleeping faces
wading into a cold stream in the summertime
watching a sunset over the ocean
writing in my journal
playing my guitar
a crisp, juicy apple
the sound of rain
walking in the woods
a gentle breeze
the smell of holly blossoms
riding my bike
and on and on and on…
Isn’t life AWESOME?
If you don’t think so,
play “One Hundred Things I Love”!!!
Our creative talents and abilities
are portals to the consciousness
that encircles the universe,
the same power that moves galaxies.
Tuning into this power
and manifesting from this consciousness
we are given the precious opportunity
to live inspired, uplifted lives
moving within the currents of energy
that move the oceans, the mountains,
the wind, the stars,
that keep the planets in orbit.
With no particular goal in mind
and no pressure to perform a certain way,
we can create for the sake of creation
and enjoy the act itself.
And if we allow this joy to bubble up
and radiate outwards,
we will have the honor
of inspiring and uplifting others.
And so my friend,
picking up your pen, or your brush,
or your instrument,
singing, or dancing,
or looking through the lens of your camera,
cooking a beautiful meal,
these are not selfish acts
or flights of fancy…
These are you living from
your deepest, highest self
and making a profound contribution
to all beings.
And so my friend,
what are you waiting for?
We are longing for your shining light.
Please create now!
I don’t need to be inspired to write.
The story that I need inspiration
keeps me from my inspiration.
All I really need
are open eyes and ears
and heart and mind.
The world provides us
with enough material
for many lifetimes.
The universe, in this moment,
is far richer than we could ever
I stop looking for inspiration,
take a deep breath in,
I let it out.
I am alive.
Realizing this is inspiring enough.
Too tired to be inspired,
or, is that true?
I take a deep breath.
Oh, that’s right…
When that ceases to inspire me,
I’m enjoying this new app I got, Vanilla Pen…you’ll probably be seeing more posts like these because I find the process of searching for inspiring quotes and then creating posters with them to be therapeutic…a good outlet for the inner artist who so desperately wants to express herself but who doesn’t often find the time to get out the color pencils, water colors paints, brushes, pastels, pens, paper, etc. Mr. iPhone is always right there, however, so I can have the creativity experience without taking the time to assemble all the materials that my other art projects require.
and I worry I won’t find inspiration.
Too tired to dig down deep
and extract some delightful gem
from the depths of my subconscious…
but then I sit, and listen.
I hear the rain
drumming on the skylight in the hall.
I can picture millions of tiny drops
falling on every skylight in this neighborhood,
tapping on all the windows, the roofs.
Hundreds of leaves on hundreds of trees
shaking gently as each drop meets
its final destination.
And the blades of grass, how do they feel?
And the birds?
The swings hanging in the dark playground–
do they wonder when they’ll move again
to a swinger’s delight?
There are fox and deer around here–
where are they in this rain?
Do they love the sound of its falling as I do?
How big is the cloud loosing all these drops
on the world?
Does it stretch a mile across the sky?
Ah, I remember now.
Inspiration isn’t an answer.
It is a question.
