Are You In?

Standard

And what if you gave up all control?
What if you could trust the Universe
to take the lead?
What if you could open yourself
to the messages of spirit
and having received them,
put them into action?
Friends, there’s no time to be wishy washy.
Are you all in?

Back Home to Joy

Standard

Don’t hide your pain,
especially from yourself.
Pain hidden from yourself
gets blamed on others.
Be brave, warrior,
and look deep inside.
The pain is just another facet
of the deep and abiding joy
that is who you really are.
To experience this deep joy,
you must navigate through
your own pain.
Sit still, breathe,
pay attention to your body—
it has much to tell you.
Breathe a little more,
let it reach deeper into you.
Tune into all of it,
feel all of it,
the grief, the anger, the sadness,
the resentment, the disappointment—
whatever it is, it is showing you the way
back home to your joy.

Healing from the Inside

Standard

Healing isn’t something we do,
it’s something that we allow,
once we have dissolved the blocks
to its natural unfolding.
And the blocks are always inside us.
What stories are you telling?
What beliefs have you cherished for so long?
What identity have you been feeding
at the expense of your deepest, truest self?
When we decide to heal, we will,
and it doesn’t matter what needs to be healed.
Cultivate self-love, an appreciation of your soul,
stoke the fire within you that gives rise
to your vibrant, beautiful expression in the world.
All this and more becomes your way of life
when you choose to heal from the inside.

Healing

Standard

Healing.
Trusting that the wisdom
deep within you
can rise up and show you
what you need.
Closing your eyes
to the world outside
and diving deeper within.
Finding the source
of well-being.
Breathing deeply
and drawing from that source.
Opening your eyes
and returning to the world,
engaging from a healthy place,
a stable place, a wise place,
looking out into the world
with the eyes of compassion,
eyes that have seen
pain and healing
as two sides of the same coin.

Let Us Lead

Standard

If we weren’t challenged,
how would we ever know our own strength?
If we didn’t know fear,
how would we find our courage?
If we didn’t experience outrage
how could we tap into our sense of justice?
These times, these difficult times,
are unfolding exactly they way they should.
Let us not fight reality,
reality will always, always win.
Instead let us wake up.
Let us see the opportunities
raining down all around us,
quenching our thirst to know who we really are.
Now is not the time to recoil in horror;
now is the time to stand up and take action.
We are the leaders we have been searching for.
Let us elect ourselves to do the work we were meant to do.
Let us set the example of peace,
of good relations,
of environmental responsibility,
of love and forgiveness, compassion and understanding.
Yes, we are all leaders.
Now, my friends, let us lead.

Into My Full Potential

Standard

When I shift my story
from victim to
empowered being
I step into my own potential.
And the story about being a victim
is mostly unconscious.
I want to be happy and at peace
like everyone else.
Knowing that my thoughts
create reality
of course I would always choose
positive thoughts
in alignment with what I want
to experience in this life–
IF
I could be conscious all of the time.
But sometimes my thoughts think me…
and they keep thinking me
until they don’t,
and this is what
changing my narrative is all about.
It requires radical self-acceptance
and profound honesty,
therefore tremendous courage as well.
At first this seems daunting,
but that is only the scared one talking,
afraid to lose familiarity,
that same old story
that has become deeply ingrained.
I am grateful to all of the teachers
who have forged this clear path
that I might see it
and step into the realm of possibility,
into my full potential.

Feel Them All

Standard

Feel your emotions,
all of them.
They might be so intense
that all you want to do is run away
but your emotions
can open you up,
help you to awaken.
You let yourself feel,
and you are curious
about the anger,
the fear,
the irritation,
the frustration.
You are curious
about the joy,
the desire,
the excitement,
the inspiration.
In this curious place,
you look inside
and ask yourself
Where can I feel this emotion?
Is it in my belly?
My heart?
My throat?
My head?
Your emotions can be a pathway
to awakening;
giving them your attention
you are here in the present moment.
They have something to tell you,
listen.
They can teach you what you
need to know,
learn.
Just summon your courage
and feel your emotions.
Feel them all.
